Congrats Mr. Cao (R-LA)

First Vietnamese-American elected to Congress:
Representative-elect Joseph (Anh) Cao.

Plus, former Army Chief of Staff General Eric Shinseki gets a nod from President-elect Obama to run the VA. He's the guy who told Congress in 2003 we needed more troops to secure Iraq but was fired for telling the truth.

Great news for rice-eaters.

Japanese folks sing and dance for President-elect Obama

There's apparently a town somewhere in Japan named Obama that is sure to benefit from his election. Ohayo!

Stormy seas

So hope for a great sea-change
on the far side of revenge.
Believe that a further shore
is reachable from here.
But then, once in a lifetime
the longed-for tidal wave
of justice can rise up
and hope and history rhyme.

I am muy busy. A good thing, perhaps.

Pixar visit 1.0

I paid a visit to famed animation studio Pixar's headquarters tonight.

After getting riled up by Obama and McCain talk about "Joe the plumber" I found inspiration in the innovations with Blu-Ray technology. Presentations by folks from Disney, Sun Microsystems and other developers were quite interesting.

If I learned anything this evening, it is that Pixar's renowned publicity-shy identity was in full effect. Both Pixar PR reps said they didn't have their business cards on them. Curious.

At least I made it past the guarded gates this time.
